Together we worship and serve Jesus Christ and pursue God’s will.
NOTE FROM PASTOR JASON
Jenkins Church in Nolensville, TN is a Cumberland Presbyterian congregation. Our theology is considered to be a broad umbrella under which many expressions of faith exist. We are also a personal church where we get to know each other’s names and support one another’s lives. Bro. Jason’s teachings often focus on practical applications to the faith and so Jenkins is a place where members can be involved in doing the works of Christ. So, come join us (new here faq) to worship, serve, and pursue God’s will in our lives together.
HISTORY/BACKGROUND
The Cumberland Presbyterian denomination was formed in 1810 as a response to the Second Great Revival in the new frontier country of Middle Tennessee. Over the next 200+ years the denomination has influenced theology as it was the first to ordain women (Louisa Woosley in 1889), and the rejection of the Dual Covenant in favor of a Single Covenant belief. Currently the Cumberland Presbyterians have 70,000 members in more than 15 countries.
Jenkins Church was formed in the mid-1980s as a mission church of Tusculum Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Nashville. After temporary locations, the corner of Nolensville Rd and York Rd. was donated by the Jenkins family and the present church campus was begun. Jenkins has always been known as a community church as many from town use the facilities for a variety of occasions. Jenkins confirms its role by its involvement in the community any time there is a need.
