Together we worship and serve Jesus Christ and pursue God’s will.
Welcome from Pastor Jason
Jenkins Church is a welcoming church of friendly members who best worship in a smaller congregation. We enjoy a fellowship lunch together on Sundays once a month right after communion, know each other by name, and have a close bond. Our effort here is to dive deep into our faiths and dig into the best life has to offer when lived in Jesus Christ. We hope you join us soon so that we can worship, serve, and pursue God’s will for our lives together.
Why We Do What We Do
Click here to see why it is that we do the things in worship that we do. Our worship at Jenkins slowly changes over time, introducing elements and removing other elements to provide the opportunity to praise God. Here you’ll find explanations of these parts of the worship.
Simply, worship at Jenkins is in the form of the Christian life. We call ourselves into worship by remembering who God is, invoke God’s name, offer to God, learn about God, and then commit to rejoin the world to live the Jesus life.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is your worship style?
It is a mixture of styles. Musically, we often have traditional hymns but others are mixed in as well. It is a loose worship service where jokes and friendliness are often evident. We recognize we are family and friends worshipping and not just a meeting of people. Bro. Jason’s sermons often address the life of the Christian today in this world, and God’s promise about what a righteous life is now and for eternity. Jenkins enjoys full participation from all attendees so if you have a talent (singing? poetry? art?) that you’d like to share with the church, please let Bro. Jason know!
What to wear?
You might be out of place in a tuxedo and pajamas are not often worn, but anything in the middle will probably match what someone else is wearing. Don’t get hung up on what you wear. Get hung up on God!
What about the kids?
We have a Jenkins Kids program so that children up to high school can have lessons during the sermon that are appropriate to them. We are currently retooling that program as we navigate the Covid pandemic. Are you interested in helping? Let us know!
What about communion?
Communion at Jenkins is open to all. If you are with us on this journey during worship, Jesus is there to nourish you no matter your affiliation or situation. He just wants to feed us. So please, if you are here the first Sunday of the month when we have communion, partake in the meal.
How to join the church?
Joining the church means committing to being a full participant in the community of faith. It is your church, then, for you to form with others into being the very vision of Jesus in the world. When you are prepared for that commitment, please talk to Bro. Jason and we’ll praise God together as we make a plan to join Jenkins Church.
