Here’s a chilling story in the Bible. Herod Antipas served the head of John the Baptist on a platter as a gift to his daughter.
We are reading through the book of Mark together as a church and learning about Mark in a sermon series during Sunday morning worship. Here are some more things to think about as we continue reading this gospel. Mark 6:14-29 tells the story of Herod Antipas choosing protect his honor and execute John the Baptist even though he didn’t want to. Let us not be like Herod, so caught up in our identity that we cannot choose to do the right thing.
