Last Saturday, the ladies of Jenkins Church had a blast putting together Christmas baskets for the women of Thistle Farms. Our ladies split into teams and spent the day out shopping for holiday items to include in the baskets. Rumor has it, the only thing more lively than the ladies of Jenkins was the group text on their phones! After shopping success, they met back at the church to see what everyone had gotten, put together the baskets, and enjoyed some pizza from Amico’s. Thank you so much ladies!
Thistle Farms is an organization that heals, empowers, and employs women survivors of human trafficking, prostitution, and addiction. Thistle Farms believes that love is more powerful than all the forces that drive women to the street, and a strong community will help them not only heal, but thrive. Through safe housing, healthcare, counseling, and employment, they provide the tools for physical, mental, and economic freedom. All housing and clinical services are provided free of charge. Meaningful employment leading to financial freedom is instrumental in the healing journey. The social enterprises of Thistle Farms provide gateway and permanent jobs for survivors.
