Herod Antipas served the head of John the Baptist on a platter as a gift to his daughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">We are reading through the book of Mark together as a church and learning about Mark in a sermon series during Sunday morning worship. Here are some more things to think about as we continue reading this gospel. Mark 6:14-29 tells the story of Herod Antipas choosing protect his honor and execute John the Baptist even though he didn&#8217;t want to.
